Who We Are
MacroXray is a protein product ranking and discovery tool available at macroxray.com. For any privacy questions, contact us at hello@macroxray.com.What Data We Collect
Account data: If you create an account (via email and password, or by signing in with Google), we store your email address, display name, and profile picture as provided by the authentication service. When you sign in with Google, we only request the basic profile scopes (openid, email, profile). We do not access your Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Contacts, or any other data from your Google account.
Preferences: Dietary constraints, ranking weights, unit system, and theme preferences you set within the app.
User activity: Product ratings, reviews, saved products, price alerts, benchmark inputs, and product submissions you choose to create.
Affiliate clicks: When you click a retailer link, we log the click (product, retailer, timestamp, and a hashed IP address) to track affiliate revenue. We do not store your full IP address.
Analytics: We use Google Analytics (GA4) and Ahrefs Web Analytics to understand general usage patterns like page views and referral sources. By default, analytics cookies are not set — we use Google Consent Mode v2 which collects cookieless, aggregated data without storing personal identifiers on your device.
How We Use Your Data
Your data is used to provide and improve the MacroXray service: saving your preferences, personalizing rankings, displaying your ratings and saved products, tracking affiliate revenue, and improving the product. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Third-Party Services
Authentication: We use Supabase Auth for account management. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your basic profile info (name, email, and profile picture) with us via their standard OAuth flow. MacroXray's use of data received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use this data for advertising, and we do not share it with third parties except as strictly needed to operate the service.
Hosting and database: The app is hosted on Vercel. Data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL). Both services process data on our behalf under their respective privacy policies.
Analytics: We use Google Analytics (GA4) and Ahrefs Web Analytics. Google Analytics operates under Google Consent Mode v2 — by default, no analytics cookies are stored. Google may process aggregated, cookieless signals to model usage patterns. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Affiliate links: Retailer links (e.g., iHerb, Amazon) are affiliate links. When you click through to a retailer, that retailer's own privacy policy applies.
Cookies
MacroXray uses a functional cookie to store your preferred currency. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) are blocked by default via Google Consent Mode v2 — they are only activated if you explicitly grant consent. We do not use advertising cookies or sell data to advertisers.
Data Retention
Your account data and activity are retained as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time by contacting us at hello@macroxray.com, and we will delete all associated data within 30 days.Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. If you are in the EU/EEA, you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
Children
MacroXray is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the app or email. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
